Upper Valley Action Fair

Saturday, 24 November 2007 - Lebanon, NH — The Lebanon Composite Squadron participated in the Upper Valley Action Fair today. The event, sponsored by Headrest, helps youth in the area find interesting organizations and activities in which to participate. Their mission is to "Offer Our Youth an Array of Alternative Activities In an Effort to Deter Their Use of Alcohol and Other Drugs" which is one of the goals of the Civil Air Patrol Drug Demand Reduction program as well.

Cadets Halpin, Stallmann, and Williams came to help out seniors Balog and Keen with our booth. After a presentation by another group, the cadets thought it would be fun to put together a short drill presentation. Although Stallmann had only just started learning the rifle drill that morning, he put in a great performance for the crowd.Get QuickTime

Lebanon Takes the Gold

Saturday, 5 May 2007 - Concord, NH — Cadets from the Lebanon squadron today took home the first place plaque in one of three rocket competitions. Our "Storm Caster" (held by Williams in the photo) flew higher than any of the other contestants and took the gold in the altitude competition.

Our "Eggscaliber" (held by Marvin in the photo) was one of three rockets to pass the first round with the egg intact. Unfortunately, all three failed to protect their cargo on their second flights. As a result, no squadron won this competition but we and the other two squadrons received recognition for passing the first round.

Our "Mean Machine" (held by Nestor in the photo) narrowly lost the duration competition when it's parachute failed to deploy completely in the final round.

Congratulations to all who participated in building, painting, and launching these rockets.

Additional photos are available on the wing web site.
